Chimneys and Chinking (Update 27 Nov 2024)

I was at the Joseph Greer House this morning (Wed 27 Nov 2024) to see the crew working in the wall chinking, and looked at the chimneys which are now complete.  I thought I would add a few photographs to give you some appreciation of the work effort thus far.

The south end of the Joseph Greer House.

Applying Log Jam (Brand name of chinking) to the voids between the logs.

Red Cedar porch posts installed on both sides of the house.

The house viewed on the south end, showing the roof and porches covered with roofing fabric.  You can see the lower dark colored logs are from the original Joseph Greer House, over 220 years old.
